How do Christians reconcile the following with how they live their lives?

The Christian eunuch was a vow that one took based upon the gift to be able to do so. It did not involve actual physical alteration but self control. Paul tells us about it, also.

Very good though. You seem to inwardly recognize that such a physical alteration would be a sin. You simply need more information to help you to be able and correctly evaluate the little you have read. Read 1st Corinthians 7: 1-17. It will fill in those blank spots for you if you are willing to think about it and do not simply want to find fault.

It's not saying to castrate yourself. It's pointing out that back then, yes there were eunuchs- and that some people just are not sex-obsessed, "by nature"... and decided not to marry- so they could do full-time ministry unhindered.

But, thinking it over- I think MOST men ought to be made into eunuchs- for sure pedophiles, rapists, and the guys who can't stop running around creating babies, and leaving society to try to care for them!!

It's about us Christians realizing that not everyone is going to accept the idea of God. Not everyone is going to share in our faith and feelings, and that's okay! If we can accept it we should. And, if we can't accept it, then we should just let it go. Being a good person is best wether or not someone believes in God. I have too many Atheist friends who are some of the most FABULOUS people I know to believe they are all gonna 'burn in hell' or some such nonesense. I'm not giving up having a great person in my life just because we differ in spiritual beliefs. Neither should any Christian.
