Everyone wants to have a healthy life especially for the eledrly.But how can we lead to a healthy life?I suggest you in 3 steps.
Firstly, eat a healthy diet. This means limiting your total fat consumption to 30% or less of total calories,eating lots of fruits and vegetables and not overeating.The US Department Oof Agriculture,the group that developed the food pyramid, allows you to tailor an eating based on your age,activity level,and height and weight through their website.
Second,exercise regularly.Find an activity that you enjoy and do it at least 5 days per week.Exercising is helpful for weight control, cardiovascular health and bone health.It will also help you to feel better by reducing stress.
Lastly,elininate bad habits.If you smoke cigarettes, try to quit.If you drink alcohol,limit yourself to 2 drinksper day if you are a man and 1 drink per day if you are a woman.Identify other bad habits in your life and develop a plan for eliminating them.
