Inside the Park Homer, I'll never forget Brett Gardner's last season.

Triple plays and inside the park home runs are usually the result of a fluke. A true steal of home is daring and exciting.

I'd go with the steal of home.

Man on third... it's always in the back of your mind, especially if it's one of the quick little guys who just might try it (or have done it before!)... and THERE HE GOES!!! It unfolds, like a particularly impressive bolt of lightning, right before you -- captivates the crowd, they roar -- the slide, the tag attempt, and the umpire's call. No matter the outcome, it's an adrenaline moment.

An ITPHR is fun, but it takes a long hit which is already sure to be a double, maybe a triple -- the ITPHR just stretches it that last little bit. And it typically requires either a badly misjudged hop by the fielder, or a wild carom (like Ichiro got at the 2007 ASG), and once the ball is distant and free, it's pretty much in the bag.

The triple play -- man, those are just weird. The typical situation is two on, no outs -- a prime opportunity for a big inning -- and then BAM! Liner caught, step on second, throw to first, and -- wait, what just happened? That was a triple play? A TRIPLE PLAY? Oh man... And if you're at home, you have to wait until after the commercials for the replay. It's over so fast, and the teams are changing places already, that it's difficult to process the thrill factor.

Any one is a special memory, but I think the steal of home ranks highest. It also takes genuine audacity, which doesn't really figure in for the other two plays.

I'd have to go with an Inside the Park Home Run. You have more time to view it so the excitment builds up. Will the hitter run out of gas? Will the fielder get to the ball and make a good throw? Will there be a collision at the plate? A lot of things going on at once.

Triple Plays usually happen so fast you don't realize it until it's over. Stealing home is exciting too but for me it's not quite as exciting as an ISTP-HR.

1. Stealing Home. But only if it's a straight steal of home. If it's on the back end of a double steal it's not as exciting. It's so sudden "here's the pitch, the runner goes!"... and the moment that hangs in the air of will he make it or not...

2. Inside the Park HR. Just a little less exciting than stealing home because it's not always a close play and it usually involves an outfielder making a mistake by going for a ball he shouldn't have or some type of fluke. Still, there's a great buildup as the runner rounds each successive base.

3. Triple play. Seldom all that exciting other than the huge sense of relief or disappointment fans of each respective team will feel afterward. Most triple plays are of the lined-out-during-an-attempted-double-steal variety and are really kind of anti-climatic with runners being caught 70 or 80 feet off base.

Edit: Chipmaker ... you beat me by 35 seconds. Great minds...

Wow. I'm not sure. I'd say they are all awesome to watch. Um, I might also add one more to the exciting plays list. I think when a hitter hits a triple it is very exciting. But the coolest out of all of those is probably stealing home. That's very exciting. You hardly ever see anyone attempt that nowadays. I think Jayson Werth did it once last season. I think he stole second base, third base, and home all in the same inning. But I might be wrong.

Inside the park. I was screaming when Ichiro got an IPH during the all star game. Most exciting thing I've seen, other than the Rangers Triple Play. I just stared at the tv.
