exciting, excited的分別

當 verb + ing 或 verb + ed，就會變成 adjective。exciting 同 excited 既主要分別在於它們形容的對象。

先看看 verb + ing (exciting)︰

verb + ing 係形容一個「情況或事件」或一個「人的特性」，意思係「令人...的」，以 exciting 為例就是「令人興奮的」。

例 1︰ I want to do white water rafting one more time, it is so exciting!
我想玩多一次激流，實在太令人興奮(剌激)了!
exciting 係呢度係形容個激流的。(情況或事件)

例 2︰My boyfriend is so boring that he can never come up with any activity other than watching movie.
我的男友實在太悶蛋了，除了看電影外，他不會想到其他活動。
boring 係呢度係形容個男仔的。(人的特性)

再看 verb + ed (excited)︰

verb + ed 係形容一個「人的心情」，意思係「感到...的」，以 excited 為例就是「感到興奮的」。

例1︰I finally got the chance to do white water rafting again, I am so excited now!
我終於可以玩多一次激流了，我現在(感到)很興奮呢!
excited 係呢度係形容我當時的心情/情緒的。(人的心情)

例2︰I am totally bored by my boyfriend and watching movies!
我對於我的男友和看電影已感到極度沉悶了。 / 我已經被我的男友和看電影悶壞了。
bored 係呢度都係形容我當時的心情/情緒的。(人的心情)

舉多個例︰
1. You look so interesting in the TV show.
你在那個電視節目裡看起來很有趣。 (「你」在那個節目中亮相)

2. You look interested in the TV show.
看來你對那個電視節目很感興趣呢。 (「你」在看那個節目)

樓上那位仁兄的答案是不正確的，excited & exciting既分別絕對不在於 tenses. 因為一加咗 ing / ed，佢地已經變成了 adjective。

當形容詞後加 ed 時形容一個人的自身感覺，而形容詞後加 ing 時則形容一個人、一件事、一樣物件給人帶來的感覺。

例如：

The movie was boring
(so I felt bored).
這電影給人沉悶的感覺 (ing)，所以我覺得很沉悶 (ed)。

This book is so
interesting (so I am interested
in the book).
這本書給人很有趣的感覺 (ing)，所以我對這書很感興趣 (ed) 。

The football game between Arsenal and Chelsea was
exciting (so the fans were
excited).
阿仙奴對車路士的比賽讓人很興奮 (ing)，所以球迷們都看得很興奮 (ed)。

因此

一樣事物給你的感覺是 ing，你自己的感覺是 ed。所以「我很悶」是 I am bored，絕對不能說 I am boring，如果說 I am boring 意思便會變成我 (這個人) 給人很悶蛋的感覺。

Excited Exciting

exciting之所以要加ing係因為佢係形容緊死物
例如:This film is exciting.
因為film(影片)係死物,所以加ing

而excited之所以加ed是因為佢形容緊人
例如:I feel excited.
因為I(我)係人,所以加ed

Exciting和Excited兩個都好似理解為：興奮，但寫時要配合前後文所表達的興奮與主詞的關係。簡單用中文分辨可能是exciting是興奮的，excited是興奮地；一個用表達件事，一個用作表達個人的心情。
I am exciting.
It is excited.

例一兩個常見用法：

It is an exciting event.只可以用exciting，不能說It is an excited event.

I am excited about XXX. 與 I am exciting about XXX.文法都可以，但意義上則有點不同。excited由於作被動詞，所以表達我被xxx所激動；exciting由於成為我現在好興奮。兩個都是動詞式。這個可能不是你想問的形容詞用法，但卻是常見而可能令你產生疑問的地方。

excited
