Hard to answer, because we are not privy to what Geely's plans are for the future of Volvo. They will most likely keep it intact because the Volvo brand has some cliche in China. With China's track record and scandal's like the melamine baby formula (which was covered up twice by the Chinese government), toy lead scandal, and recent cadmium jewerly scandal, I would not trust Chinese products or intentions. When Geely takes over Volvo, a lot of manufacturing of parts and complete Volvo's will probably shift to China; and who's to say in the future if there is a serious design flaw in a product that they would be willing to quickly issue a voluntary recall or would they try to bury it as long as they can (hoping it will go away), as is the current customary practice in business in China.
