(a).Find the total number of flowers ordered.
(b).What percentage of the total number of flowers ordered is red?

3.A shopowner sets the marked price of a TV set so as to make a profit of 30%.Finally,he sells it at a discount of 15%and makes a profit of $1470.What is the cost price of the TV set?

(1)(a) Let the total number of flowers be x
Number of pink flowers = x - 300 - 125 = x - 425 = 32% * x
x - 425 = 0.32x
0.68x = 425
x = 625
(b) Percentage of red flowers = 300/625 * 100% = 48%
(2) His increment in weight = 6.25%
His weight last year = 51kg / (1 + 6.25%) = 48 kg
(3) Let the cost price be $x
Marked priced = $x * (1 + 30%) = $1.3x
Selling price = $1.3x * (1 - 15%) = $1.105x
Profut = $0.105x = $1470
x = 14000
The cost price is $14000
(4) Estimate the number by 0.4 x 60 = 24
