Hi,

For this question, let's first multiply both sides of the equation by -8 to get:

n - 2 = 3 ( n - 6 )

Now, distribute the 3 over the quantity n - 6 to get:

n - 2 = 3n - 18

Subtract 'n' from both sides to get:

-2 = 2n - 18

Add 18 to both sides:

16 = 2n

Finally, divide both sides by 2 to get:

n = 8 <==== FINAL ANSWER

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

- n + 2 = - 3n + 18

2n = 16

n = 8

Re-writing the question:

-(n-2)/8 = -3(n-6)/8 <--- This is the same question, just rephrased. We multiply with 8 on both sides, giving us:

- n - 2 = -3n + 18 <--- We've also computed the 3(n-6) part here. After this, it's just repositioning so we get n = ?

2n/2 = 16/2

n = 8

Hope that helps =)

-1/8(n - 2) = -3/8(n - 6)
-(n - 2)/8 = [-3(n - 6)]/8
-(n - 2) = -3(n - 6)
-1(n) - (-1)(2) = -3(n) - (-3)(6)
-n + 2 = -3n + 18
-n + 3n + 2 = 18
2n + 2 = 18
2n = 18 - 2
n = 16/2
n = 8

(-1/8)(n - 2) = (-3/8)(n - 6)
-(n - 2) = -3(n - 6)
-n + 2 = -3n + 18
2n = 16
n = 8

-1/8(n-2)= -3/8(n-6)
First multiply both sides with -8 :
n-2 = 3(n-6)
n-2 = 3n - 18
16 = 2n
8 = n

-1/8n+1/4=-3/8n+9/4
-1/8n+3/8n+1/4=-3/8n+3/8n+9/4
2/8n+1/4=9/4
2/8n+1/4-1/4=9/4-1/4
2/8n=8
1/4n=8
4(1/4n)=8(4)
n=32
