Q1. For any team, they get x points for winning a match, get y points for drawing
a match and no point for losing a match. Set up simultaneous equations to find x and y.

Q2.Hence, how many points has Tottenham Hotspur got?
Tottenham Hotspur:
games played: 12
wins: 7
Draws:1
Losses:4
Goals Scored:23
Goals Against:17
Goal difference:6
Point per game:??

Q1, First of all, you have to define what are the variables involved.
Let's say we have games played = G
games won = W
games drawn = D
games lost = L
points got = P
Obviously G = W + D + L ... (1)
and P = Wx + Dy ... (2)
Q2, With the given information, the points that Tottenham Hotspur got is straight forward
P = Wx + Dy
Since W = 7, D=1, so P = 7x + y
Point per game = P/G = (7x + y)/12
In the current Premier League point system, x = 3, y = 1
Hence Tottenham Hotspur got 7*3 + 1 = 22 points
and point per game = 22/12 = 11/6
Goals are irrelevant for the point calculation

於我看來,Q1及Q2關係不大.關係只可能是說大家都是關於比賽得分的計法.
Q2第一部份 "how many points has Tottenham Hotspur got?" 是求總數.
下面"Point per game:??"是求平均.
所以總數和平均我都做了.
