If the credit card's statment is lost/stolen in mail, there is late interest, should credit card holder pay fe?

For example, if a credit card hold has balance on the CC. The statement is lost/stolen etc, so the due date is passed, then there is also interest on the balance. Later on the CC holder pay the whole payment, and request to refund the interest because no statement. Then the representative told, you need to contact us to find out if you don't have statement. However consider the holder doesn't even know there is balance, so assume there is no balance. Is it true or not, if true then they can simply dont send any statement or coincidently they could simply do not care if you have statement at all. And tell the holder, everything is their responsibilities to find out and pay? It might not happen often, but this kind of case is worth talk about.

thanks.

To clear something up. It does happen that the mail is lost somehow, believe it or not. Second, there is no previous balance, and pay in full every time. The new balance is in the new purchase, and and supposed to be on the previous statement, which is paid in full. If not listed, it is safe to assume there is no more balance. And at that time that specific company is running a promotion to reduce the credit card to $0 when you spend $0.01 or more. And another thing is if there is NO balance, they DONT send statement, it is what they doing for many years, they claimed it will save trees. There you go the story. It may not happens that often(or dont even believe it would ever happen) to those who read this and can answer question like this. Then there is no need to continue thinking, because it is impossible for you to believe in what ever is being said above. Thanks for your time.

More to add into this discussion is: Only the interest result from the late pay part is questionable. Hope that helps.

With most bills, and certainly with credit card accounts, the account holder is responsible for making payments even if the statement is lost in the mail. You could threaten to cancel your account if they do not credit the late payment fee, but it's completely up to the credit card company.

See if the credit card has online statements available or if they will email you statements. Emails will serve as a reminder payments are due. You can also set up automatic payments through a lot of online banks to prevent late payments in the future. So you could set up automatic payments a specific day each month for the minimum payment and make additional payments when you like.

Pay you bill by Phone, Online OR IN BANK

if you DO NOT KNOW your account number LOOK ON YOUR credit card it's that 16 digit code

Not GETTING IT in the mail is A VERY VERY LAME Excuse

YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE A CREDIT CARD IF you DO NOT KNOW THE DUE DATE ,Minimum PAYMENT and/OR CLOSING DATE

Yes the card holder has to pay. The bill is due on the same date every month and you know this so there job is to mail it and your job is to pay it. If you were unaware of a balance then you still get to pay since they did their job. Once its in the mail its on you.

If there is a balance, then either (a) there previously was a balance, and the cardholder did not pay it in full, so you knew that there would be a balance again, or (b) someone used the card, so that person knew that there would be a balance. Either way, your comment that the cardholder "doesn't even know there is a balance" is false, and assuming "there is no balance" is stupid.

Yes, it is the cardholder's responsibility to pay, and no, it is not worth talking about this.

I have had many credit cards for many years, and never has one ever gotten lost in the mail. They will not believe your story.

Google the name of the company followed by the word (s):
complaint, scam, rip-off
Try to see if they have done this to anyone else.
If so, join the lawsuit.
