2. i have a car rental company recommended, it is far cheaper than the well-know brands(7days rental can save up to 50-60% based on the same model), it is called bayswater car rental, www.nobirds.com.au, but they only have 2 types of car to rent, toyota corolla hatchback and toyota corolla sedan. and available for pickup and dropoff at their shop in kingscross. but travelling to their shop from airport by taxi cost around AUD15-20.

3. if you rent from avis, budget, thrifty etc at airport cost the same as if you pick them up in downtown, there will only be extra charges if your pickup and dropoff location are not the same.

4. if you rent from no birds, they have a e-toll machine installed inside the car, so you can use e-toll when you want to ride on a tollway. and the amount of toll charges will be deducted from your deposit.

if you travel in sydney, beware of the cross city tunnel (short but expensive tollway), and the tollway that you may use most probably will be the harbour tunnel/harbour bridge($3), when you get back from sydney north.
