Maybe you're referring to "take a stand"

take a stand = 表明立場

Example: Take a stand for what you believe in.

It's not the same as picking sides because you already picked a side!

side 需為複數形
也就是一定要寫成 sides

因為要選邊站
就一定有二邊以上
必為複數
（只有一邊怎麼選嘛....... ^^||||）

choose a side
pick a side
take a side

應該都可以～
a也可以不要加～

我會說take side

如：你要選哪邊? Which side are you going to take?

你不能選邊站啦! You cannot take side

我支持他(那邊的意見) I am on his side.
