When he liberate the slavery system, Europe need another man that will say yes, and it coincide the southern opposing free slavery, and it start the long succession of power. Do bear in mind, without European influence, the south will not start sucession to the country.

If the American Civil war turn out to be on Status Quo, there may be another American War happened during WW1. As at that instance, Lincoln's US is align to Austro-Hungarian Empire where the Davis's CSA was aligned to British and France.

If the status quo did happen, US will aide Germany on WW1 and enter on Austro-Hungarian Side while the south will enter WW1 on the allied side with British and French.
