Hi,

For this question, we are given the following system of equations:

2x - y = 3
x + y = 3

Let's make the first equation in the form of y = mx + b as shown below:

y = 2x - 3
x + y = 3

Now, substitute the first equation into the second to get:

x + 2x - 3 = 3

Combine similar terms to get:

3x = 6

x = 2

We now know that x = 2 and can plug this value into one of the given equations to get:

2 + y = 3

y = 1

FINAL ANSWER: x = 2 ; y = 1

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

2x-y+3x+y=6
5x=6
x=6/5

y=2x-3=12/5-15/5=-3/5

Question is badly presented.
Will assume that you mean :-

2x - y = 3
x + y = 3--------ADD

3x = 6
x = 2

2 + y = 3
y = 1

x = 2 , y = 1

Solve by using substitution.

2x - y = 3
x + y = 3

x + y = 3
x = 3 - y

2x - y = 3

Substitute 3 - y for x.
2(3 - y) - y = 3
6 - 2y - y = 3
-3y = 3 - 6
y = -3/(-3)
y = 1

x + y = 3

Substitute 1 for y.
x + 1 = 3
x = 3 - 1
x = 2

∴ x = 2, y = 1

It helps to break it into separate equations
2x - y = 3x + y
-y = x + y
-2y = x
now you can plug this in for anywhere you see x
2(-2y) - y = 3
-4y - y = 3
-5y = 3
y= -3/5
and then plug this back in
2x - (-3/5) = 3
2x = 2 + 2/5
x= 1 + 1/5

you ought to multiply the equations so as that whilst they're extra jointly between the pronumerals will cancel out: (2x + y = 3) * 3 6x + 3y = 9 x - 3y = 12 upload the hot equations into one yet another: 7x = 21 x = 3 Now which you realize what x equals, use that to sparkling up for y: 6 + y = 3 y = -3 ----------------- ordinary: x = 3 y = -3 whilst putting your answer in an ordered pair, be confident to accomplish that alphabetically: (3, -3)

2x - y = 3
x + y = 3

Add the equations together on both sides:
2x - y + x + y = 3 + 3
3x = 6
x = 2

There's your solution for x.

The equation you gave consists of 2 equations (which you need to solve for a system or 2 variables) :

2x-y = 3
3x + y = 3

2x = y+3
x = (y+3) / 2

3[(y+3)/2] + y = 3
(3y + 9) / 2 + y = 3
3y + 9 + 2y = 6
5y + 9 = 6
5y = -3

y = -3/5
x = (y+3) / 2 = (-3/5 + 3) / 2 = 6 / 5

2x-y=3
x+y=3
-------------
3x=6
x=2
y=1
