I can only answer for currently, saying that I didn't know much about the sox, even through watching the games, until around 2007...
i, personally, am a fan of Dustin Pedroia and Jacoby Ellsbury. Pedroia may be small, but he swings the bats well. i think it's cool that even though people told him that he wouldn't be tall enough for the majors, Dustin didn't give up and here he is today. When the sox announced that they traded Crisp, and Ellsbury would takeover in CF, i didn't like it. He had only played one full year in the majors, and i didn't think that in anyway in the world that he was ready. I was proven wrong. He broke the club record with 70 stolen bases, including home against the Yankees. He had the second highest average of the sox roster and was voted the TYIB best defender. Jacoby has gone a long way.
