Will be traveling to China soon?

We're adopting a baby girl from China and I want to know how much we should expect to pay for 2 round trip tickets from the US to China. It could be last-minute. We're hoping to have our new daughter by the first of the year, but it may take longer. :( Can anyone help? Where is a good place to start looking for tickets? We can't get anything nonrefundable since we aren't sure of dates yet.

Buying on line is still the cheapest way to go. The price is always cheaper due to the fact you are not using the service of a person. Or a travel agent. But still look into it. you never know what you will find.

I have purchased to tickets to China. Both cost me around 900-1,100 USA. I like to use BOOKING BUDDY

http://www.bookingbuddy.com/

This website will let you search all the major airlines and discount airline ticket sellers.

If you buy a month in advance you will get a cheaper rate. If you buy a week in advance you will pay more. If you leave on a Busy travel day (SUNDAY) it will cost more. If you leave on a not so bust travel day (TUESDAY) it will be less. Most likely if you buy close to the time you are going you will pay more.

Good Luck.

First, I'd check with your adoption agency to see if they can recommend an airline who gives discounted tickets for this purpose.

Second, you can watch prices at http://www.kayak.com. They trawl all the travel websites for up-to-date fare rates.

Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family! May it be a wonderful time for you.

I have always used uschinatrip.com to buy tickets to/from the US/China. I also have to recommend Cathay Pacific...they may be a bit more pricey, but it is worth it for such a long trip. Some bad news tho is that the December/January time frame it a little bit more expensive because of all the people traveling (more foreigners traveling to China in December to visit and more Chinese traveling within China in January for New Year celebrations)...I would expect to pay anywhere betwee1200 and 1500USD round trip...of course it depends on where you're coming from in the US. If you come from LAX, you may find some cheaper...maybe between 850 and 1000USD...but if you don't live in LA then you need to get there first - obviously :)

Wow, that's nice to hear u are adopting a baby from China. I strongly suggest u guys not to buy ticket on the internet, its so expensive. I searched it, it about $1500 or even more for around trip for each person. However, if i were u, i would buy it from Chinese travel company. It just cost about $1000 u know if you buy it from Chinese travel company. In some reasons its less than $1000. For $1000, it just in winter and summer time. You will save alot. Where states do you live? i can help u search the chinese travel company phone #.

How about www.expedia.com, or buy from the airline operator directly? Buying from the airline operator directly should get you better term if you'd like to alter the date or refund the ticket.
Try Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific to fly to Asia. They're the best.
