..-x
[-------- - 5=2x]3
..3
-x-15=6x
-x-6x=15
-7x=15
x=-15/7 answer//
-X/3 - 5 = 2x
or, -x - 15 = 6x [multiplied by 3]
or, -15 = 6x + x
or, 7x = -15
x = -15/7
(-x / 3) - 5 = 2x
Multiply 3 on all numbers to get rid of the fraction.
-x - 15 = 6x
+x +x
-15 = 7x
7x = -15
/7 /7
x = -15/7
-x/3 - 5 = 2x
-5 = 2x + x/3
2x + x/3 = -5
x(2 + 1/3) = -5
x = -5/(2 + 1/3)
x = -5/(6/3 + 1/3)
x = -5/(7/3)
x = -5(3/7)
x = -15/7
- x - 15 = 6 x
- 15 = 7 x
x = - 15 / 7
Mr tyrone. we need to take like terms on one side and you will change the sign of the term when you change sides , also you should know a = b implies b = a .
-x/3 - 5 = 2x means -5 = 2x+ x/3 = 7x/3
now x = -5 * 3/7= -15/7
if you didnt understand this, lets try another method to clarify
we have the equation -x/3 - 5 = 2x let us add x/3 to both sides
-x/3 + x/3 -5 = 2x +x/3 which is same as - 5 = x( 2 + 1/3) pr -5 = 7x/3 ( the two x/3 and -x/3 get cancelled - thats why we added the term)
now we have 7x/3 = -5 how do we find x , we need to get rid of the term 7/3 now how do we do that , let us multiply both sides by 3/7 we know 7/3 * 3/7 = 1
7x/3 * 3/7 = -5 * 3/7 or x = -15/7
hope this is clear. all the best
(- x/3) - 5 = 2x. Solve for x.
Multiply all terms by 3 to cancel out the denominator.
- x - 15 = 6x. Add x to both sides.
- 15 = 7x. Divide both sides by 7.
x = - 15/7. Answer
參考: Self
-X/3 - 5 = 2x
=>-x/3 - 2x = 5
=>x/3 - 6x/3 = 5
=>x- 6x = 5 * 3
=> -7x = 15
=>x = -15/7
參考: me
-x/3 - 5 = 2x (times by 3)
-x - 15 = 6x (plus by x)
-15 = 7x (divide by 5)
x = -15/7
