我用"since they are very close to each other"係因為你想講"我行路返工因為碼頭同公司好近":

I usually walk to my workplace from the Central Piers since they are very close to each other.
我經常會由中環碼頭行路去公司因為佢地兩邊非常接近.

to each other 在最尾有什麼用意?

你唔可以就咁話"they are close", 因為係英文嚟講"they are close"有好多解法，容易令人confuse, 但係用"they are close to each other"就可以表明係"兩邊非常接近".
"to each other"唔係一個phrase, "close to each other"先係
