what age range will pitchers have their best performance?

the phillies just got Roy Halladay from the BlueJays. Im wondering how many years of really good pitching does he have left. he is currently 32.

Randy Johnson didnt win his 1st CY Young Award till he was 32. Then he won it again 4 years in a row at ages 36-39. - just a fun fact

Primes are usually based on when a player joins the MLB (for example if there's a MLB rookie who's 28 and another who's 23 then the 28 year olds prime will come sooner than the 23 year olds) The average prime age is 27 to 33 and some players are what you would call workhorses or gems because they can comtinue to perform very well throught nearly their whole MLB careers.

It depends on the player, some don't get it until their late thirties, usually it's 28-34 though

Halladay is probably in his prime now. Good pitchers hit their prime years a little later, b/c they pitch as opposed to just throw hard and get away with it, like the younger guys.

good one Halladay is great but, its all about whats in his eyes of weather he can pitch. So he has im guessing 6-8 years left on him because he really didn't pitch in a playoff game yet so his arm is really good still. But, you never know I mean look at Jamie Moyer who pitched till now which I believe hes 46, 47 not sure but, hes still good.
