1. Calculate the pH of a sample of orange juice whose concentration of hydrogen ions is 3.16x10^(-4) mol dm^(-3).

My solution: -log(3.16x10^(-4)) = 3.5003

2. The concentration of hydrogen ions in a bottle of wine is 3.20x10^(-4) mol dm^(-3). What is the pH of the wine?

My solution: -log(3.20x10^(-4) ) = 3.4949

Are my solutions correct? If they are wrong, please show me the correct working with details and explaination. Thank you!

The solutions are correct.

However, too many significant figures are taken. Since the concentrations are in 3 significant figures, the answer o f pH should be at most in 3 significant figures, i.e. 3.50 and 3.49 respectively.
