You have 2 buffer solutions which are pretested to a certain pH ( e.g. 2.5 or 9.6) then you insert your pH meter into one solution & adjust to that exact digit , then you wash your pH meter with di-ionized water , let it dry . Then you put your meter to other buffer solution & adjust to the number again . You have calibrated your pH meter .
