有關動名詞問題

Peter stop to play football.

Peter stop playing football.


playing is similar to to play,both are not verbs,but are nouns.
我會睇成一個動詞因為用起來都係像動詞，但係英文的文法上不當係一個動詞 .

再補充下，試比較以下兩句

Good learners enjoy learning English
i like apples.

會睇成good learners =i, enjoy learning=like, English=apples.

我會咁睇，唔會好似你講咁有兩個nouns擺在一起。

1似動詞多些的gerund
hey shop all morning for musical instruments.
they go shopping all morning for musical instruments.

they go shopping(shop is vi so no object followed)
shopping is like a verb more than nouns in fact.

they like swimming(swim is vi so no object followed. Hence, swimming is more like a verb but in english grammar it doesnt belong to verb.)

2純動作名詞的gerund
swimming is good for health.
swimming is really treated as a noun. there is no doubt here.

Good learners......作subject.

enjoy..作vt

learning...作object//gerund=V+ing動名詞,其功能可作subject..object..complement...and介詞補語prep. complement.

English...作adj.....在些作[賓詞補語OC=object complement.]去說明學習什麼.

例:He(S) makes(Vt) his parents(O) happy(OC)...happy補充說明令父母怎麼樣.

你都講咗，Learning 响呢句用作 Gerund， 係 verbal 中屬於 noun 一類 (另一類係 participle, 用作 adjective)。
Gerund 同其它 noun 最大嘅分別就係可以直接 take object (noun)，所以 learning English (格式: gerund + noun) 係好常用嘅，例如: attending classes, wearing glasses, cutting trees 等。
當然，gerund 亦可以唔再 take noun, 例如： I enjoy dancing. I enjoy learning 等。不過個 d 係題外話。

learning 屬verbal其中一種。
learning係呢句入面係屬greund...作為noun咁用
learning english係叫做noun phrase名詞詞組

另v+ing可以係participate作為形容詞咁用

learning係一個noun
English係一個noun
learning English夾埋係一個noun phrase,因為learning English係夾埋黎睇,並唔係enjoy learning同enjoy English
