The ovens gloves or mitts are made of heat resistance materials which can resist heat up to 480 degree . One common material is asbestos which was used before , now not any more because it can cause lung cancer . The fibres such Nomex & Kevlar are aromatic nylons which are developed by Dupond can be incoporated to make the fibre for heat resistance oven gloves .

This is because the oven glove is thick and can trap air inside. Air is not a good conductor of heat so the oven glove can block heat well.
