what is the answer to x+1/x=29/10?

x+1/x=29/10 restriction, x can not equal 0

** I am assuming the equation to solve is (x+1)/x, and not x + (1/x) **

(10) * (x+1)=(x) * (29)
expand
10x + 10 = 29x
isolate for x
10 = 19x
x = 10/19

( x + 1 ) / x = 29 / 10
29x = 10 ( x + 1 )
29x = 10x + 10
19x = 10
x = 10/19

x+1/x=29/10
29x=10x+10
29x-10x=10
19x=10
x=10/19

Multiply through by x and rearrange to give
x^2 - 29x/10 +1 = 0
use the quadratic formula to get x = [2.9 +/- Sqrt(4.41)] / 2
therefore x= 2.5 or x = 0.4
