(a)
Molar mass of CaCO3 = 40 + 12 + 16x3 = 100 g/mol

(b)
No. of moles of CaCO3 = 40/100 = 0.4 mol

(c)
Each moles of CaCO3 contains 1 mol of Ca^2+ and 1 mole of CO3^2-.
No. of moles of Ca^2+ ions = 0.4 mol

(d)
No. of moles of CO3^2- ions = 0.4 mol

(e)
Total no. of moles of ions = 0.4 x 2 = 0.8 mol
