Banquet tables usually include round tables, square tables and oblong tables, among which oblong tables are mostly used. So I would like to introduce the different of seating for oblong tables between Korea and France.

In public gatherings, social gatherings and banquets, Korean gentlemen used to sit on the right and ladies on the left, while the order of seating is dependant on status and age. Regardless of gender, the one who is highest in status and the oldest people will sit at the very front in a banquet setting. In Korean tradition the elderly are being respected, as they are knowledgeable and experienced, and granted the privilege of a front seat. Generally speaking, this kind of seating order is a manner of the Korean, showing respect to the elderly. Taking a wrong seat represents a discourteous behaviour to the Korean, and they will think that you are just offensive.

French are very demanding on banquet manner. Some of the customs that most of the people will follow include: “Ladies first”, “the right side signifies prestige”, “facing the door represents higher standing”, and “crossover seat alignment”. Let me explain what these rituals are about. Firstly, in western table manner, ladies are being respected in many aspects. In setting the seating order, lady masters are usually invited to take the prime seat, while gentlemen are required to take the secondary one. Secondly, it is a convention that the right side is the symbol of prestige. Concerning a particular position, its right hand side is higher than the left in status. For instance one should arrange a male guest to sit at the right of a female guest. Thirdly, a seat facing the door represents higher standing and the door means the main entrance of a restaurant. It is usually higher than the one sitting back to the door. Finally, the seating should be aligned in a crossover approach for the sake of meeting friends and social purposes.

Banquet seating in general can be divided into round-table, square table, and a long table, usually the most widely used long table, so we have introduced the differences between South Korea and France, the long table seating.

Korean in public gatherings, social occasions and the banquet, usually sitting on the right side of men, women sitting on the left, and is based on height and age as the size of the order scheduled seat; Korean is often regardless of male and female masters sit, as long as banquet, the position of the highest and most older people, they can sit front. Because in the traditional Korean society, older people because it has a lot of knowledge and experience are respected, so the priority status of high and sitting in front of the elderly. And most Koreans think this seat is a polite way to express their high status and respect for older people. If you take the wrong seats, they will think you do not respect them; it is for them a kind of impolite behavior.

French people are very particular about the seat at the banquet, there are some rules, most people will abide by, including the Ladies first, to the right for respect, surface and cross-arranged on the door;

I solution for everyone of these rules mean, first, in the Western etiquette, the President everywhere respected. Precedence at the scheduled meal, the theme in general should be invited to the hostess seated,

while the man of the house Zexu relegated to the second theme. Second, the right to respect for basic pointers.
On a specific location, its the right side of the bit is higher than the left side of the place. For example:

hostess should arrange for male guest of honor sitting in the right side, shall arrange for the men who sit on the right side of female guest of honor. Third, the face is the face of the door of the restaurant at the main entrance of the seat,

usually in the sequence than with his back to the main entrance of the seat restaurant. Fourth, the cross-arrangement, the arrangement of seating should cross western order, would make it easier to make friends.

With the Korean business exchanges, the evening dinner is indispensable. Dine together with their elders, the elders, younger people can post the first Dongkuai Zi Dong Kuai, but also to make drink preparation,

because the Korean people like to drink, and Korean meals usually drink; during which something or pick up drink delivery when to use his left hand supporting the right wrist, expressing respect for each other.

Received after the South Korean people's banquet, we should try to return the once polite.

Most of the French hospitality in the hotel business was held, only the relations are very close friends only invited to Jiazhongzuoke.

Dining, to keep hands on the table, because if you do not hands on the table, the French people think that you do not respect them, this is a right they are rude behavior. By the hospitality, it should call or write a note in the next day thanks.
