FORMAT HARDDISK

I have an external harddisk Maxtor 500G for record the TV programmes with the "Eight" HD TV decoder.but the harddisk seems not quite good, I wish to format the hardisk in my computer which has OS Window XP but only the "NTFS" format can be used ? but I need to format it in "FAT32" format, can any body help to tell me the correct way to do it ?
