I really think the lack of confidence has robbed me for over two decades. I think I really need to stop it because it has made my life miserable.

I don't know if you're religious at all but I use to be pretty shy. I just prayed to God everyday that he would just make this go away. I was so sad that I couldn't just be myself.
Then like just slowly I just became more and more confident. Now I'm comfortable around many people. I talk to people I don't know, and I love meeting new people. It's really cool feeling to just be able to start a conversation with anyone in like my classes or what not and just be comfortable and not feel awkward.
Another thing that does help is some drugs. But most people don't want to go that route so I won't say anymore.

Whoa.....well....seems it's time to re-invent yourself.
Go past GO, collect $200 worth of confidence and try again. Don't let people take that. The ONLY way they can is if you LET them.
