(a) The x-intercept is (-1, 0)
Sub into equation y = -3(x + a)/x
0 = -3(-1 + a)/(-1)
0 = 3(a - 1)
a - 1 = 0
a = 1
The equation becomes y = -3(x + 1)/x
(b) when y = -3, sub into the equation again,
-3 = -3(x + 1) /x
x = x + 1
1 = 0 which is impossible
Therefore the graph does not intersect with the line y = -3
