Is it safe to be a tutor?

I have done a lot of tutoring and I never felt even remotely unsafe in any of the houses I visited. Quite the contrary! People don't expect tutors to be rich and have valuables about them. What's more, if they did rob you, you'd be able to tell the police just where to go to find them! No, relax. It won't happen!

Perhaps for your peace of mind you should make it quite clear that other people know your whereabouts. Perhaps the first time round a friend or relative could even drop you at the house and arrive to take you back afterwards.

these days it`s always better to be safe rather than sorry. i would recommend meeting at a coffee shop, or a library. something like that. after you`ve gotten to know them a bit you could suggest goign to their house from then on. for the first time though, public places are best
