Can someone please tell me why selection A is not correct compared with B?
A) Although still continuing elsewhere, polio has been eradicated in the United States and could be brought into the country by visitors.
B) Although eradicated in the United States, polio continues elsewhere and could be brought into the country by visitors.
Need some English grammar help!?

statement B has better parallel sentence structure in comparison to A

Not quite sure how to explain it, but in sentence A, the main idea is split. It starts stating that polio is continuing, states that it is gone, then states it is possible to come back. In Sentence B, the main idea is together, saying it is gone here, but continues and can be brought back.
