(a) x^2+y^2-6x+6y=12
x^2 - 6x + 9 + y^2 + 6y + 9 = 12 + 9 + 9
(x - 3)^2 + (y + 3)^2 = 30
Centre = (3, -3), radius = √30
(b) x^2+y^2+6x+y+(17/2) =0
x^2 + 6x + 9 + y^2 + y + 1/4 = 9 + 1/4 - 17/2
(x + 3)^2 + (y + 1/2)^2 = 3/4
Centre = (-3, -1/2), radius = √3 / 2
