Statistically the Yankees have a bit of an edge (but it's close)
Baseball history will remember the Red Sox championships more though. Especially the amazing '04 comeback.
You almost have to declare the Yankees and the Red Sox co-teams of the decade I think. Fitting since it definite was the best decade ever for our great rivalry.
Many people may disagree, but I would say the Red Sox and not just because I'm a fan. After the World Series the Sox won't be the only multiple-WS win team of the decade anymore but I would still give them the edge. Yes the Yankees had more AL pennants and division titles. But we shouldn't forget that the Red Sox pulled off the greatest comeback in baseball history and FINALLY won the World Series for the first time in eighty-six years. After accomplishing something decades and decades of Red Sox players weren't able to do, the Red Sox won a championship, then managed to pull it off again three years later. The Yankees had one (possibly soon-to-be two) WS titles, but the Sox overcame a huge obstacle and made history. The Red Sox of this decade, especially the 2004 team, will always be something to be remembered.
i would have to say the Red Sox. they broke the curse and beat the yankees and won the world series for the first time in awhile. they also won another title a couple of years later.
Yankees 2000 world champs 2003 ALCS Champs 2001 Alcs Champs 2003 Alcs Champs 2009 And future world Champs Also if we repeat in 2010 That makes this team even more better. We have more wins then bosoton this decade and more visits to the post season.
