首先, 正統來講, 放在restaurant 前面的 preposition 應該係 "at", 而唔係 "in". (雖然網上都會找到 dine in 的用法)

所以用dine in, 定係dine out, 應該以你自己為中心.

只用 to dine in a restaurant 係無明確指出你是否酒店的賓客.
