Dean is a nice name! He is going to be a child and an adult for much longer than he is going to be a baby so if it doesn't fit well for a baby I don't think its a big problem.

That's the thing about babies, they turn into toddlers and then kids and then teenagers and then adults. Does he like the name for a boy or man? I'm sure as a baby and little boy you would find nicknames for your son if you named him Dean....like with his middle name or whatever. My brother's name is Sean but we called him Bobbers when he was a baby. See what I mean? If your husband likes Dean for a boy or adult, I think you can convince him it will be ok for a baby!

Very nice name! tell your husband to get over it LoL, Dean is a beautiful name. If your husband thinks it's too masculine for a baby, he can call him Baby Dean for awhile!

Dean is adorable and it does sound a lil masculine but u don't want to pick a weak name like when he gets older he doesn't want to have a baby name

I don't think dean is a masculine name at all. What I do when I am picking a name is look for the meaning of the name if I like it then it helps me decide. I name my 2nd child Adrian, my husband said the name was for girls but that's not true there is Adrian for girls and boys the spelling is different.

I don't agree but that's probably because I picture Dean Thomas from Harry Potter, who's a kid/teenager. So it doesn't have that impact with me.
In any case, you guys should choose a name that suit both your tastes. Discuss what names you both like or try to persuade him a little more.. :)
But doesn't Dean mean "church official"? Maybe you should consider that...

I adore Dean. It's handsome and strong. When your son is older it will be good to have a "masculine" name. I don't think it's one bit too masculine for a baby boy. Good luck! :)
