No. Washing it doesn't accomplish anything. What is dangerous is not washing and sanitizing anything the raw chicken may have come into contact with, including your hands, the counter top, the utensils, or any cutting boards you used, as well as the handles of the sink faucet and the oven- anything you might have touched with bloody chicken hands.

Washing raw chicken helps remove the bulk of the harmful bacteria on the surface of the chicken, and helps reduce cross-contamination from your hands to anything that you touch afterwards. I consider this a good practice.

DON’T WASH YOUR MEATS:

You don't need to clean any meats from the grocery store. It is pointless and can actualy spred any germs even more.

The water will splash no matter how careful you are threre fore spreading anything and everything you were trying to rinse down the drain aroudn your kitchen.

Also do you plan on sanitzing yor sink and the rest of your kicthen as soon as you get done rinsing/washing your chicken?

Well if you plan on santizing every in of your chicken imediatly then by all means go ahead and wash away.
