Is vaseline and chapstick the same thing?

Not exactly, but they are meant to do the same thing for your lips. Vaseline is petroleum-based, and Chapstick contains wax and other moisturizing ingredients. Vaseline can be basically used anywhere on your body-over dry skin, lips, cuts etc. but Chapstick is reserved only for your lips.

Vaseline can be put on any part of your skin, but it's too thick for my lips in my opinion.

No not at all. They both serve the same purpose to soothe chapped lips, but they are definitely different. Vaseline is more liquidy and will moisturize your lips better. Chapstick is more waxy and just doesn`t work in my opinion. I carry Vaseline with me everywhere, LOL! I love that stuff! Hope I answered your question.

vaseline is way better for your lips because it doesn't dry your lips out and i keeps them from getting chapped.
chap-stick dried lips out so i would say no they are not the same and i would not use chap-stick.

not really but you can use vaseline on your lips ... it might feel weird and thick but it works just as well

I have never used chapstick as lube
