有外國人問路, 點答

如果很難說得清楚, 最好先解釋給問路者知道原因, 這樣會令問路者安心一點.

I’m sorry, this place seems far from here.
對不起, 這個地方似乎距離這裏比較遠.

I think it is not easy to tell you how to get there right here.
我認為現在並不容易把去這個地方的方法告訴你.

I suggest you ……….
我提議你……….. (你可以提供先到某xxx地方的方法)

1.) walk along this road………. 沿著這條路走
2.) take the MTR …………….. 乘港鐵
3.) take a bus no. “N” …………乘”N”號巴士
4.) take a tram …………………乘電車

………to XXX first, and then you may ask somebody there.
………到XXX這個地方, 然後你可以在那裏再問人吧.

這樣, 問路的人會感到有助他到達目的地, 而且他會安心一點, 最後你向他祝福, 問路人的心情一定會舒暢很多呢!

如果他人所問的目的地距離遠，但你知道如何去，你可以先問他人有沒有甚麼可以抄下你所說的。如：
The place is fairly far from here. Do you have something to jot down the directions?
如他人沒有，你可以說：
OK, then, let me show you the first few steps to get to XXX. Once you get closer to XXX, you can ask others for assistance.
接著就把你所知的告訴給路人。

Sorry, I cannot clearly describe the route to you right now.


May be you can ask someone when you get to XXXX.
