Solve this algebra please.. 6x - 7 - 7x = - 16?

I was home sick for a while and i missed there quick lesson on this algebra.(Lessons go really quick in that class) 6x - 7 - 7x = - 16 i have no idea how to do this.

6x - 7 - 7x = - 16.First combine the x terms. 6x - 7x = - x. So you now have:
-x - 7 = - 16. Now add 7 to both sides of the equation.
- x - 7 + 7 = - 16 + 7. The - 7 and + 7 on the left side cancel each other out. You now have.
- x = - 9. Multiply both sides by - 1 to get:
x = 9. Answer

-16 = -16...It checks!!
So, x = 9 is right.
