"倒果為因" 直譯係 "to reverse the roles of cause and effect". 有一句英文諺語有同樣意思: " to put the cart before the horse".
put the cart before the horse: Fig. to have things in the wrong order; to have things confused and mixed up.
eg. He is eating his dessert before his main course. He has put the cart before the horse.

上面的譯法：put the cart before the horse 是本末倒置，著重次序，不一定有因果關系，簡單地可譯作；
