Jane charges each group of students a tutorial fee of $200 per hour. For a group of x students tutored by Jane, each student has to bear $C per hour, where C=f(x)

(a) Find f(x)

(b) Find the value of C when x=5

(c) If each students of a group tutored by Jane has to bear $20 per hour, find the number of students in the group.

(d) Jane tutored a number of groups of students yesterday for 1 hour each and there were a total of 22 students. If each group had a maximum of 5 students, at least how much tutorial fee did Jane receive yesterday? Explain briefly.

(a) Charge of each student = C, so for x students, total charge = xC which is equal to 200. That means xC = 200, C = f(x) = 200/x.
(b) When x = 5, C = 200/5 = $40.
(c) When C = 20, x = 200/C = 200/20 = 10 students.
(d) For 22 students, minimum number of groups > 22/5 = 5 groups.
Since charge is $200 per group per hour, so Jane received 5 x 200 = $1000.
