What was the fatest pitch ever?

Stephen Starsburg threw 99 yesterday, I remember when Randy Johnson through 101 in the NCLS back into the 2002. Makes me wonder what was the fastest pitch ever recorded in Major League Baseball Game? In the playoffs?

The hardest a pitcher has ever thrown is Billy Fagner and Bob Feller who each threw it 107 MPH. However these we're not in real games only in practice just to show off and missed the plate by quite a large margin. So you could argue that they weren't real pitches. In a real game the hardest I've seen is 102 by Nolan Ryan and Bobby Jenks. Both went for strikes.

Is Nolan Ryan, whose fastball was "officially" clocked by the Guinness Book of World Records at 100.9 miles per hour in a game played on August 20, 1974, versus the Detroit Tigers. A record that's still included in the book.

Mark Wholers and Joel Zumaya both reached speeds of 103.0 mph. Though it's claimed Bob Feller once his 105 mph. Nolan Ryan's 100.9 was the first 100 + mph pitch recorded. Since then many have broken that standard.

"What was the fatest pitch ever?"

If you mean 'fate', it was the pitch by Carl Mays on August 126, 1920, that killed Ray Chapman.

Mariana Rivera can throw into the 100's as well.
