2(x^2 - 2x + 1) = 4x^2 - 4x + 1
2x^2 - 4x + 2 = 4x^2 - 4x + 1
2x^2 - 1 = 0
By quadratice equation
x = [0 +/- √(0^2 + 4*2)] / 4
x = +/-√8/4
x = +/- √2/2
By direct calculation
2x^2 - 1 = 0
2x^2 = 1
x^2 = 1/2
x = +/-√(1/2) = +/- √2/2
