The speed is much lower than the escape speed of the Earth. So, it is safe to use equation of motion to tackle this problem.

Let upward direction be positive.

Initial speed, u = 350 ms-1

Acceleration due to gravity, g = -10 ms-2

Displacement, s = 0

By s = ut + 1/2 gt2

0 = (350)t + 1/2 (-10)t2

Time, t = 70 s or 0 (rejected)
