Car Subwoofer or HDTV?

depends on your age, i currently have both. Got my subs back in high school which was cool, but by college they are really overrated and unnecessary... HDTV, you will really want this in college or after college, its a nice investment but the prices are currently going down right now so id wait a couple months.

If you going to get either though buy these brands, i have experience in both departments

People bashing subwoofers, have you even come close to experiencing concert sounding quality in your car?

Music is a whole new experience when you have subwoofers, rock sounds 10 times more crisp, that metal band youve always wondered about sounds like your right at the concert, rap (well bass) is essential... dont bash something you know little to nothing about.

JL Audio (bit over rated but still nice)

Resonant Engineering (specifically XXX model... probably out of your price range though)
Diamond Audio (an OK brand)
And Some Pioneer Premier Brands

Hifonics (way underrated, their new amps are bad except for Brutus Series)
Rockford Fosgate
Pioneer
Soundstream
Sony (depending on model)


TV Brands
Sharp Aquos Model is amazing
Sony Bravida Model
Toshiba Models (usually cheaper and run at 720 only with bad sound...but quality at least)

You don't live in my neighborhood. Do what you like.

get both.....find cheap stuff.......id get the tv first...in fact thats what i did..if your home more than driving then get the tv..

I like my sub, but I use it to add to my music, not to drive through town with it blaring as loud as possible. If you do A LOT of driving, you'd enjoy a sub, if not get the TV first.

HDTV ALL THE WAY!!!!!! You'll enjoy it so much better. The subs are just going to ruin your ears.

It's too dangerous to multi task while driving unless You have passengers. You can't watch TV and drive. Because there are too many accidents from multitasking just like DUI. Just get an HDTV And watch from the comfort at your own home. Stay safe and don't multitask or drink while driving.

why do people even put subwoofers on the car i mean for what its not like you have the music all loud and suff. so the cops can stop you.
i personally think a t.v way better.

Short answer without spending money? You can't. The car amp is made for 12 volts, your house is wired for 120 volts.

all the people that say you'll blow your ear drums are idiots. and should not answer questions. but yeah i'd say it depends on how much you drive, and how much time you spend inside, or at least watching tv/movies. i LOVE me some bass...so i'd take the subs. i like the addition it puts in music.

and no...brutus amps are not that good either. the XXV line is where hifonics starts to shine. and NO sony amp is good.
