The markings on a calibrated thermometer have faded away. We know that the column lengths for 0 ℃and 80 ℃are 6 cm and 21 cm respectively. What is the column for 37℃?

The column length corresponds to 1*C
= (21 - 6)/(80 - 0)
= 0.1875 cm
So, by proportion, the length column of 37*C
= 6 + 0.1875 X 37
= 12.9375 cm
