type of food : x , y , z

weight of food (g) : 2 , 2 , 4

temperature of water at the beginning(℃): 20 , 20 , 20

highest temperature of water reached
on complete burning of food(℃): 60 , 70 , 80

1.what is the increase in water temperature on complete burning of 4g food Z?
2.Predict the highest water temperature reached on complete burning of 2g of food Z.(show your calculation.)

✔ 最佳答案
1. Increase in temperature = (80-20)'C = 60'C
2. Since the supply of heat energy from food increases with mass, and the increase in temperature is proportional to the heat energy supplied, hence the increase in temperature by burning 2g of food Z = 60x(2/4)'C = 30'C
Highest temperature reached = (20+30)'C = 50'C
3. For the same 2g of food, X, Y and Z give the highest temperature of 60'C, 70'C and 50'C. Therefore, food Y provides the greatest energy.
