AL Question - Newton's ring

The glass plate in a Newton's rings experiment is lowered while the lens is kept fixed. If the wavelength of the light source is 400nm, what is the minimum distance moved by the plate so that the centre of the rings becomes bright?

What steps should be taken to solve the above problem?

As for the light to strike the lower glass, there will be a pi phase change.

So, for the minimum distance moved, the reflected ray on the upper glass and that of the lower one should be of phase 2pi, adding pi phase more.

It corresponds to half of the wavelength.

So, 2d = 入/2

Minimum distance, d = 入/4 = 100 nm
