Can but ASSUME that you mean :-

2 / ( 10 + n ) = 1

2 = 10 + n

n = - 8

2/ (10 + n ) = 1
2 = 1 (10 + n) [Multiply both sides by 10 + n. The 10 + n on the left hand side would then cancel out and be 'moved' to the right hand side.]
2 = 10 + n
