If Boston play .500 ball (8 and 8) over there last 16 games, that would force the Rangers to go 12-4 just to tie.

I don't see that happening! Red Sox are playing well, Beckett, Lester and Bucholtz have been solid! It is very tough to play 500 ball with three solid starters. Then look at the Rangers, they are not playing good ball at the moment, so 12-4 would be tough.

It appears the Sox are coming into form just in time for the stretch run.

I wouldn' t mind if the Rangers would win it but then if the Yankees continue winning then there's no chance for the Red Sox to win the divison. So their best option is the WC. And yes I would like to see them win it if they can't win the division. The Rangers should catch the Angels too if they can't win the wildcard.
