2(10) + 2W = 24
20 + 2W = 24
2W = 4
W = 2

A = WL = 2(10) = 20

here is an example

the perimeter of a rectangle is 30in and the length is 8in find the width

30 = 2L + 2W
30 = 2(8) + 2W
30 = 16 + 2W
14 = 2W
7 = W

Width is 7in

length*width=area

perimeter = 2(length+width)

plug in for 24= 2(10+width)
goes to 2width=4 so width = 2
and plug into area equation so 2*10 = area = 20

perimeter = 2length + 2width.
24= 2(10) + 2w
w= 2

area = length*width
area= 10(2) = 20

P = 2L + 2W
24 = 2 (10) + 2 W

A = L x W

good luck

2L + 2W = 24
You know L = 10 so
2(10) + 2w = 24
20 + 2w = 24
Subtract 20 from each side
2w = 4
w = 2
so length is 10 and width is 2 and area is length times width so area is 20

I'm assuming this is a rectangle? If so...
Width=2
2009-09-15 1:32 am
per = 24
length + width = 12
length = 10
width = 2
area = 20

width: 2
area: 20 square units

To find the width, divide the perimeter by 2 (because there are TWO of each side length) and subtract 10. This gives you 2.
To find the area, simply multiply length by width: 10 x 2. This gives you 20.

Remember to include units, and that area is in units squared!

area=length x width
